Alice Holt Cycling On Ice ’til Next Week

January 6, 2009

It’s cold. Very cold right now. Everyone knows that. But here at Alice Holt Forest it’s also very beautiful.

There’s a a thin layer of snow that covers the ground, and the sky is clear and blue.

But still cold.

Normally, the weather never stops us enjoying our Thursday morning inclusive cycling sessions. Cyclists of all abilities, with learning or physical disabilities, come along and enjoy the riding whatever the weather.

But this week, we’re listening to the weather forecast and deciding that we won’t resume Thursday morning cycling until next week, on the 15th January.

Women found to be less active

January 6, 2009

I was reading on the BBC website about some research that confirms what many people had previously suspected – that activity levels among women are lower than they are in men.

BBC article – Females ‘less physically active’.

We’re planning a series of bike rides this summer that will give women the chance to enjoy cycling. CTC’s Five Miles to Fabulous rides focus on women, with a major event day in June.

We’ll let you know more about the rides very soon.
